About Ric

Ric Rojas received his BA from Harvard University in 1974 and an MBA from the University of Denver in 1983. While at Harvard, he set the three-mile record and qualified for  'All-Ivy' honors in track and cross country.

From 1977 to 1981, Rojas was ranked in the top 10 US Road Racers by Track and Field News. He has won countless events, including the 1979 Bolder-Boulder, the 1975 Bay-to-Breakers, the 1979 Lilac Bloomsday Run, and the 1981 Gasparilla Distance Classic 15K, setting a world record of 43:12. Additionally, in 1978 he won the Utica Boilermaker, and in 1976 he won the United States USATF® national cross country championship.  As a masters runner, Rojas has won three USATF National 5000 meter championships.

As a high school prep, Ric Rojas won four New Mexico State High School Championships in cross country and track and was ranked in the top 10 United States High School Milers. He still holds the New Mexico State mile record of 4:12.6, which he set in Albuquerque, New Mexico, 1970; his best prep mile time was 4:11.6, run in Houston, Texas, February 1970.
