Five 5 Mile, 2 Mile, Kid's XC Races

Centennial Middle School
Johnny
McCarthy took the top spot in the 2 mile race at the High Five Road
Race Series on Sunday, October 16th. His time was 11:52. Will Maher
followed McCarthy in 12:16. Sarah Brenne was the first female finisher
in a time of 13:40.
"I
felt like that hill really held me back alot, that I really should
have gone faster on the hill," said McCarthy. "The second
mile I did perfect."
Will
Maher had a rough start running in his first 2 miler, suffering
a side stitch for the first mile, but rallied for a strong finish.
"It started going into the first turn there, then it kind of
stopped," said Maher. "I just kept the same pace instead
of speeding it up."
The
brother-sister duo of Max and Amanda Worthy sweep of the Kids Cross
County races, each bursting to the lead from gun and running away
with their races.
Virtually
all of the Ric Rojas Running team members recorded personal bests
in the race! Unofficial results can be seen in the race results
section.
