Takes Two Mile
Hi
again Ric,
I won the River Run 2-mile, but it was a pathetic race.
I felt fantastic the first mile and a quarter. But after
that, my legs felt heavy and cardio went south. I am sure
it has to do with my iron depletion because that is how
I felt a couple years ago when it first happened to me.
For
the River Run; I ran my first mile in 5:24 and felt really
strong. A couple minutes after the first mile, I unraveled
and couldn't race anyone. I let guys pass me left &
right. Usually I can jump and surge during a race.
I usually catch it before too long because I can feel the
iron depletion when I do 2 and 3 mile tempo runs. Since
we have been doing mostly short speed work, it hasn't effected
me.
Certainly
by the invitational mile in Indiana I will be back on track.
I don't think I have lost anything speed wise.
Mary
