Running Shorts 22: The Turkey Trots 2011

  Hello, runners! I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving, because some of our athletes sure did. The annual wave of Turkey Trots has taken up the last couple of weeks, and we had some great results.

 

Many of our runners outperformed everyone in the Longmont Turkey Trot 2 mile race!

 

James Gilbert took 1st in his division in 11:55; Valerie Eipper also took first in her division in 13:32. Marty Lund took 1st as well in 18:55. Ruthie Hall-Kunz was 2nd in her division with a time of 28:05 and Bobby Fischer took 4th in 19:57.

 

Among junior runners, Niki Marshall took 1st in her division with a time of 13:41. Samantha Koski, in the same division, took 4th with 15:31.  Branden Bohling and Kyle Crawford took 7th and 8th in their division, with times of 13:04 and 13:23 respectively.

The CU Boulder Turkey Trot was sponsored by Turley’s Restaurant at  Pearl and 30th.  

 

Valerie Eipper took first once again with a time of 21:31. Bobby Fischer also took third in his division, taking third in 30:53.

 

Maura O’Brien took second in the 14 – 19 division with a time of 20:01, with Slipper Jones close behind in 7th with 23:26.  Wynne Royer was 7th in the 13 and under girls’ division, finishing the 5k in 24:24.
