Welcome

Ric Rojas offers a comprehensive training program for adult endurance runners and sprinters. The foundation of the program is goal setting, training specificity, and coaching interactivity with the runner. Ric's training programs are proven to produce results for both distance runners and sprinters.

Coaching Philosophy

One of the hallmarks of his programs is his "under train-over perform" training philosophy. This simply means that you train no more than is necessary to achieve your goals. Ric makes every training step count.

Running Shorts Issue 16 - Triple Triathlon Threat!

After far too long a break, Ric Rojas’s Running Shorts are back on the cyberwaves! You’ve surfed those web-waves over to here, only to find a metaphor that fell apart before it even began. So let’s honor our athletes again!   We’ve had some impressive results these last few weeks!

 August 28th

On August 28th, Britt Steiner competed in the Steamboat Springs Triathlon, presented by Without Limits Productions.  It’s an Olympic Distance triathlon starting this year, and as ever, Steiner did a great job, taking 5th in her division.   She finished the Swim in 33:44, the bike in 1:20:53, and the run in 53:32; her Transitions were 1:49 and 1:27, leaving her with an impressive final time of 2:51:23! Way to go, Britt!

September 4th

One of our newest athletes, Jared Scott (9 years old) competed in the IronKids Triathlon in Avon on September 4th.  The IronKids series is a series of Triathlons meant to encourage young athletes to compete.  In Scott’s division, the swim is 150 yards, the bike is 4 miles, and the run is 1 mile.  Jared blew us all away by taking 4thin his age group, with  an overall time of 28:58.  His Swim was 3:21, his bike was 18:02, and his run was 7:35. We’re all proud of you, Jared!

And also on September 4th, Nell Rojas competed in the Hy-Vee  triathlon in Des Moines, Iowa.  Nell took second place in her division of the 5i50 U.S. Championship! The 5i50 is also an Olympic Distance triathlon, and Nell blasted right through it.  Her swim time was 24:38, her bike was 1:11:50, and her run was 36:49, with transitions of 3:02 and 1:27.  This gave her a total time of 2:17:44.  Holy cow, Nell!

You can tell that our training is paying off for all of these athletes, and it will continue to do so.  Remember, the Junior Fall Cross Country and Sprinting program starts this Tuesday, September 13th! It’s not too late to join – come join us! Times are posted on the website.
