D2 All-American O'Brien Joins RISE

Welcome to our first post-collegiate elite athlete, 10-time All-American Maura O’Brien!

Maura, who competed at Adams State University, recently returned to Colorado from Vancouver, Canada, where she graduated from The University of British Columbia with a Master’s Degree in Political Science and Electoral Studies. Maura graduated from Adams State with high honors with a degree in Political Science and a minor in History.

Maura is a 2012 graduate of Evergreen High School, finished 3rd in the 2012 Colorado 4A 1600m in 5:10. Ric served as Maura’s club coach in high school where she competed for Ric Rojas Running at Simplot, Arcadia, and the State Junior Olympics, Regional Junior Olympics & Nationals Junior Olympics.

Maura brings PR’s of 10:23 in the Steeple, 16:20 in the 5K, and 20:33 in 6k Cross Country.

She finished 8th at the 2015 D2 Cross Country National Championships, was on a winning National Championship DMR team, was the runner up in the Mile at D2 Indoor Nationals, finished 5th in the Steeplechase at D2 Outdoor Nationals, and was on two National Championship Teams (Cross Country & Indoor Track)

Maura who holds dual (US & Irish) citizenship, plans to try and qualify for the Irish Olympic Team in the Steeplechase, and take her talents to the highest possible level.
