RISE Catalyst Programs

RISE's “College Select” is a comprehensive support program for NCAA-bound athletes. Nell Rojas helps athletes and their parents answer the myriad of questions surrounding qualification, application, and college selection through a structured protocol.

Nell will answer such questions as, “How fast do I have to run? Who do I contact? and, “Is scholarship money available?”

Please register for RISE at the following links: Catalyst Gold, Catalyst Silver, and Catalyst Bronze programs.

Nell's objective is to facilitate peak performance for competitive athletes.

Ric himself was ranked in the top-10 U.S. high school milers in 1970, having run 4:11.6 at the Houston Astrodome and 4:12.6 at 5,000 Ft. at the New Mexico State High School Championships.  He was recruited by over 25 NCAA Division I Universities including Oregon, Texas, and Kansas. He decided to attend Harvard on a non-Athletic scholarship, knowing that he would not be obligated to run competitively and that Harvard would not cut his scholarship. Ric later earned his MBA at the University of Denver. After his collegiate running career, Ric went on to set the 15K world record (1981, Gasparilla Distance Classic), win the USATF National Cross Country Championship (Philadelphia, Belmont Park, 1976), and win the 1979 Bolder Boulder. He and Boston Marathon winner, Bill Rogers, were the only two runners ranked in Track and Field News’ top-10 American Road Racers between 1977 and 1981.

The College Select service begins as soon as an athlete registers for any of Ric’s Catalyst Programs. For freshman and sophomores, most of the focus is placed on improving competitive times and evaluating grades. For Juniors and Seniors, the emphasis is placed on refining the prospective colleges list, contacting coaches, and visiting schools. Ric will assist the athlete in developing letters of introduction and resumes to/for college coaches as well as write letters of recommendation.
